Good News Micro-Grants
Micro-Ministry Grants are small ($100–$500) funding boosts to help everyday people in our church take one practical step to share the good news of Jesus—through an idea, event, resource, or act of presence in their world.
What is a Micro-Grant?
A permission slip to try something gospel-shaped without needing to be an expert.
A “first step” fund for people who have a nudge, a passion, or a dream but haven’t moved yet.
Innovative: trying something new or ‘out of the box’.
Faith-filled: success = obedience and stepping out, not big numbers.
Everyday mission: aimed at homes, workplaces, schools, sporting clubs, neighbourhoods.
Low admin: simple application, quick approval, short story afterwards.
What counts as “gospel-reaching”?
Here is a framework to think about ideas.
Pray: creates a prayerful intentionality for people far from Jesus.
Presence: meaningful connection, hospitality, service, community-building with outsiders.
Proclamation: creates a natural moment for story/testimony, Scripture, invitation, Alpha/Christianity Explained, church, etc.
Not funding for internal church programs that we’d run anyway (unless it has a clear outward focus).
Not a “pay us back with results” scheme.
Not a long, competitive grants process.
Not primarily for personal benefit (e.g., buying general gear “for me”)—it needs a clear mission link.
Not for large ongoing commitments (it can pilot something, but not become a permanent budget line by default).
What it isn’t
“How, then, can they call on him they have not believed in? And how can they believe without hearing about him? And how can they hear without a preacher? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news.”
Romans 10:14-15
