Visiting SBC

We understand that attending a church for the first time can be an overwhelming experience.
Please find below a few helpful things you can expect when you are with us.

Sunday services

We have two services each Sunday at 10am and 6pm which both typically run 75 minutes long. You might want to come earlier to enjoy coffee & tea in our foyer. The service will contain contemporary music, a message that is relevant to your day-to-day life and friendly people who look forward to getting to know you.

Is there something for my kids?

During the school term, our morning services have children’s ministries available for children up to grade 6.

Children who haven’t entered school yet attend the morning service with their parents for the first 15 minutes, then are dismissed to their kids programs. They include age-appropriate music, activities, games and taught stories from the Bible.

What should I wear?

Most people who attend SBC dress in casual clothes, though some choose to dress up for the services. We are more concerned that you leave feeling welcomed and encouraged rather than worrying about what you wore. So dress however you feel comfortable and you will fit right in.

Where do I go?

When you enter the main doors of the building, you will be greeted by a warm smile and a newsletter by one of our greeters. In the auditorium, please just sit wherever you feel comfortable – we don’t save seats.

What happens afterwards?

After the morning service, we gather in the hall and foyer and enjoy morning tea with each other.

After the evening service, we enjoy a cooked meal together – for your first visit, this meal is free. If and when you come back, a meal generally costs $5 (includes meals, chips and a drink)
